If you live in Winter Springs and need the help of a Seminole
County divorce lawyer or family law attorney... We Can Help You
Divorce, child custody, child support, and other family law cases are typically filed with the Court in the county in which the parties reside. Winter Springs is, of course, located in Seminole County, Florida. Therefore, if you are married and you and your spouse live in Winter Springs, your Winter Springs divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, visitation, relocation, modification, juvenile dependency, or other family law case, would typically be filed with the Seminole County Court.
Like in the examples above, if you live in Winter Springs and the other party lives in another city located in Seminole County, your Winter Springs family law case would typically still be filed with the Seminole County Court.

However, if you live in Winter Springs and the other party lives in a city that is not located in Seminole County, your Winter Springs
divorce or other type of family law case could be filed in Seminole County, but would not necessarily have to be filed in Seminole County.

Likewise, if you are the unmarried parent of a child and you and the other parent reside in Winter Springs, your Winter Springs child custody, modification, visitation, relocation, paternity, child support, juvenile dependency, or other family law related case, would usually be filed with the Court in Seminole County.

But remember, it is the county of residence not the city of residence, as noted above, which determines where a divorce or other
family law related case should be filed. And of course, for purposes of determining where a family law case should be filed, the marital status of the parties is not a relevant factor.

New York merchant Moses Levy owned hundreds of thousands of acres of Florida land before Spain ceded Florida to the United States. Levy's holdings from Spanish land grants included all of modern day Winter Springs.

In the 1880's, the trading camp at Tuscawilla Landing, on Lake Jesup in present day Winter Springs, was one of the last southern stops for St. Johns River steamboat traffic. Tuscawilla Landing was located to the east of present day Winter Springs High School and the Winter Springs City Hall, and behind the present day Winter Springs Town Center, at the end of the continuation of Tuscawilla Road past SR 434.

Present day Winter Springs was originally incorporated as North Orlando in 1959. At the time, Winter Springs had less than 600 residents. By 1972 though, the residents of the soon to be named Winter Springs were tired of the North Orlando name. And that year, the residents held a referendum which resulted in the name change to Winter Springs.

Winter Springs is the largest, by area, of the seven incorporated cities of Seminole County. And today, more than thirty three thousand residents call Winter Springs home.
