Possibly, after residing in Casselberry with your family for a
while, something that may affect your legal permanent
residence / green card has come up.
Perhaps you have been harmed by a group the government in
your country cannot control, or by the government in your
country, and you are seeking political asylum. Or possibly you
are in need of other immigration relief.
Maybe you would prefer to stay in Casselberry because your
country has been devastated by a natural disaster or has an
ongoing armed conflict, it would not be safe to return now,
and you are in need of Temporary Protected Status.
As you may know, if an individual who resides in Casselberry would like to file a civil case, he or she would likely do so in
Seminole County because Casselberry is, of course, located in Seminole County. Similarly, a criminal case would also likely be
filed in Seminole County if the alleged crime took place in the city of Casselberry.
But, there is no similar rule regarding where a deportation case will be heard. In Immigration Court, wherever the government
files the charges, that is where the deportation case is heard. This can potentially cause unanticipated problems.

pulled over for speeding and the immigration authorities later
take custody of the person, immigration can move them to a
detention facility in California, Texas, or anywhere in the
United States, and file the case there.

The city of Casselberry is named after its founder, Hibbard Casselberry. Casselberry, who had a mechanical
engineering degree from Yale, came to Seminole County, where his mother had a winter home, in the 1920's.
Casselberry wanted to participate in the growth of the local fern industry and Casselberry originally purchased
some acreage near Lake Orienta. After selling that land, Casselberry purchased hundreds of acres in what is
today known as Casselberry and, in 1940, incorporated the area as the town of Casselberry.
Casselberry had a vision for the development of the town and, after the end of World War II, he began building
homes in Casselberry for the returning military and for others who came to Florida at the time. Consistent with
the vision he had for Casselberry, he started Casselberry's utility system and donated land for a city hall. And,
he established Casselberry's cemetery and formed a volunteer fire department which started out with a truck
donated by his mother.
The city of Casselberry was incorporated in 1965 and today, Casselberry has a population of over twenty four
thousand.
