If you reside in Debary and need the assistance of a Central
Florida family law attorney or divorce lawyer... We Can Help You
Divorce, child custody, child support, and other family law type cases are typically filed with the Court in the county in which the parties reside. Debary is, of course, located in Volusia County, Florida. Therefore, if you are married and you and your spouse live in Debary, your Debary divorce, child custody, modification, child support, alimony, visitation, relocation, juvenile dependency, or other type of family law case, would typically be filed with the Court in Volusia County.
If you reside in Debary and the other party resides in another city located in Volusiae County, like in the above examples, your Debary family law rrelated case would usually still be filed with the Court in Volusia County.

But if you reside in Debary and the other party resides in a city outside Volusia County, your Debary
divorce or other family law related case would not necessarily have to be filed with the Volusia County Court, but could nevertheless be filed with the Volusia County Court.

Similarly, if you are the unmarried parent of a child and you live with the other parent in Debary, your Debary child custody, modification, child support, paternity, visitation, relocation, juvenile dependency, or other type of family law case, would typically be filed with the Court in Volusia County.

However, as noted above, it is not the city of residence but the county of residence which determines with what Court a divorce or other type of
family law case should be filed. And naturally, the marital status of the parties is not a relevant factor for purposes of determining with what Court a family law case should be filed.

The city of Debary is named after Samuel Frederick Debary. Debary was a wealthy champagne importer from New York. In 1871, DeBary purchased land in the area and built an 8,000 square foot mansion called Debary Hall.

Debary Hall was situated on high land, overlooking Lake Monroe, less than a mile from the shore. Debary Hall was Debary's winter retreat and hunting lodge. Debary stayed at the Debary Hall every year from the time it was built until Debary died 27 years later. And there is no doubt that Debary Hall was built for entertainment.

Visitors to Debary Hall, which came by invitation only, included two presidents of the United States, European royalty, and other notable guests. The magnificent Debary Hall boasted twenty rooms, hand blown glass windows, hand carved cornices, fireplaces in every bedroom, an elevator, running water, and electricity made on site. And, Debary Hall had the first swimming pool in Volusia County and arguably the first pool built in the State of Florida.

Debary Hall has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 1972. In 1993, Debary was incorporated as the City of Debary. Today, Debary has a population of over sixteen thousand.
