Assess Your Urgency Level

However, if you think you need to take immediate action, get started on your quest as soon as you possibly can. Many people may not want to and in some cases should not consult their friends and/or family members for a lawyer referral. Naturally, this is a judgment call.

Whether you decide to enlist the help of friends and/or family members for a lawyer referral, you may also want to consider looking online to supplement the list of attorney prospects in your search to find a good lawyer. Regardless of whether you go the referral route, the internet route, or a combination of both, keep in mind that each source will have its positive and its potentially negative aspects. That being said, you need to start somewhere.
