The Greatest Loss
And unfortunately, the loss suffered can seem even worse for the person and for the family if the person has not planned ahead and has taken at least some steps to make the transition less complicated, both emotionally and financially.

Through careful estate planning, you can plan ahead and make arrangements for the future. Oftentimes, this can help you and/or your family make a less painful transition and can help everyone focus on the truly important issues.

If you have minor children, you and your family may benefit from your estate planning. If you have adult children that may not able to manage their finances in a way you deem proper, you and they may benefit from your estate planning.
"There is a remedy for
everything except death."

Don Quixote, Vol. II, Ch. 43
Naturally, the level of complexity of your estate plan will depend on your stage in life, the makeup of your immediate and extended family, your assets and liabilities, and what you hope to achieve.
Your Family and Your Situation is Unique
The loss suffered as a result of the death of a spouse or close family member is the greatest loss anyone can suffer. Similarly, the loss of the physical or mental capacity of a loved one can also be devastating, not only for the loved one but for the family members as well.
However, in other cases, the estate planning may be more involved and different estate planning instruments may need to be used together to maximize the chances of achieving the desired goals. For those more complex cases, not planning ahead of time can lead to undesired results, family disputes, more stress, and the loss of substantial amounts of money.
In some cases, an estate plan may involve simply making sure that the person holds title to certain assets in a certain manner and/or making sure that the person appropriately names the desired beneficiaries for certain accounts or insurance policies. And in some cases, the person may benefit from having a relatively simple will.
* Making the necessary arrangements to try to ensure that you and/or your minor children will be cared for by the individual(s) selected should you become incapacitated or pass away;
* Anticipating how you and your family would be affected if you become incapacitated;

* Anticipating how your assets may be affected during your lifetime and after you pass away;
If you live in Florida and/or you own property in Florida, you should consider consulting with a knowledgeable and experienced estate planning attorney that is familiar with how the laws in Florida may affect your individual situation.

If you are in the Central Florida area, call us. We will gladly be of service to you.

And naturally, if you have any significant assets, you and your family may benefit from your estate planning. Almost everyone can benefit from the help of an estate planning attorney.
Your Estate Plan can help make very difficult situations less chaotic
Create a Plan that is right for you
Many people think that estate planning involves creating a will to dispose of their assets. Of course, in many cases, estate planning does involve making a will. However, depending on the circumstances, an estate plan may involve more than writing a will because there are a number of issues that can arise while the person is alive. Estate Planning should involve:
"Everyone desires to live long,
but no one would be old."

Abraham Lincoln
* Making the necessary arrangements to try to ensure that you will be medically treated according to your wishes should you become incapacitated or terminally ill;
